Projects Human Rights Commitment

Our commitment to human rights at Projects

Our Commitment

At Projects, we believe that business should create positive outcomes for people as well as the planet. Respect for human rights is fundamental to how we operate and underpins our relationships with our employees, members, suppliers, partners and the communities we serve.

We are committed to conducting our business responsibly and to respecting internationally recognised human rights across our operations. We expect the same standards from those we work with and will seek to prevent, identify and address adverse human rights impacts wherever they may arise.

This policy applies to all Projects employees, directors, contractors and agency workers, and informs how we engage with suppliers, members and other business partners.

International Standards

Our approach is guided by internationally recognised human rights standards, including:

  • the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs);

  • the International Bill of Human Rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;

  • the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

These frameworks provide the foundation for our approach to responsible business and inform our policies, governance and decision-making.

Our Principles

Projects is committed to:

  • treating everyone with dignity, fairness and respect;

  • providing a workplace free from discrimination, harassment and victimisation;

  • promoting equality, diversity, equity and inclusion throughout our business;

  • providing a safe, healthy and supportive working environment;

  • supporting fair pay, equal opportunities and ethical employment practices;

  • respecting freedom of association and the right of employees to raise concerns without fear of retaliation;

  • opposing all forms of forced labour, child labour, modern slavery and human trafficking;

  • working with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to respecting human rights.

Our People

We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, valued and able to thrive.

Our commitment is supported by policies including:

  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy

  • Dignity at Work Policy

  • Modern Slavery Policy

  • Health and Safety Policy

  • Disciplinary Policy

  • Whistleblowing Policy

We also invest in learning and development that strengthens our inclusive culture, including neuro-inclusion and diversity, equity and inclusion training.

Our Members and Community

Projects exists to create spaces where businesses and individuals can thrive.

We aim to ensure our workspaces, events and services are welcoming, inclusive and accessible to a diverse range of people. We regularly seek feedback from members and use this to improve our services, reduce barriers to participation and strengthen our community.

Our Suppliers

We expect suppliers, contractors and business partners to operate responsibly and ethically.

Where appropriate, we seek to work with organisations that:

  • comply with applicable employment legislation;

  • respect internationally recognised human rights;

  • prohibit forced labour, child labour and modern slavery;

  • provide safe and fair working conditions.

Where concerns are identified, we will engage with suppliers to understand and address the issue and, where appropriate, reconsider the relationship.

Raising Concerns

We encourage employees, members, suppliers and partners to raise any concerns relating to human rights, discrimination, harassment, modern slavery or unethical behaviour.

Concerns can be raised with a line manager, a member of the Leadership Team or through our Whistleblowing Policy. Reports will be taken seriously, investigated appropriately and handled confidentially wherever possible.

Governance

Responsibility for implementing this policy sits with the Leadership Team.

We review our approach to human rights through:

  • annual policy reviews;

  • employee and stakeholder feedback;

  • our annual Impact Report;

  • our B Corp certification and recertification process.

Review

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it continues to reflect recognised international standards, legal requirements and best practice.

Projects welcomes feedback from employees, members and stakeholders on this policy as part of our commitment to continuous improvement.
